Economic Uncertainty
Proposed tariffs, including a 10% blanket tariff on all imports and a 60% tariff on Chinese goods, would raise prices on essential items like food, electronics, and vehicles. While tariffs are often framed as a way to protect American industry, they function as a tax on consumers, passing higher costs down to households and businesses. These tariffs could cost the average American household an additional $4,200 annually, disproportionately impacting middle- and lower-income families already struggling with inflation.
Beyond consumer costs, these tariffs could trigger retaliatory trade measures, hurting American farmers, manufacturers, and retailers who rely on international trade. Historical precedent shows that tariff wars often lead to job losses and economic slowdowns. This strategy could risk stalling economic growth and potentially push the U.S. toward a recession, making it one of the largest tax increases in modern history

Tariffs & Rising Costs: Protecting Michigan’s Economy
Recent tariffs are expected to impact the U.S. economy, increasing input costs for American farmers, particularly in states like Michigan.
Consumers may also see higher prices on essential goods, including beef, pork, fresh fruits, vegetables, and certain beverages, as tariffs drive up import costs.

Travel: A Fundamental Liberty
The recent travel ban appears to be an unjust overreach. As Americans, our freedom to explore the world should not be subject to political maneuvering or economic agendas. Unless a true national security or public health threat exists, the government has no place restricting where we can and cannot go. Travel is a fundamental liberty, not a privilege to be dictated by shifting policies.

Protecting Michigan from Ontario’s 25% Electricity Surcharge
As your Congressman for Michigan’s 4th District, I will take immediate action to protect Michigan families and businesses from Ontario’s 25% electricity surcharge, which threatens to drive up energy costs across our state.
Now more than ever, Michigan needs a representative who is willing to go the extra mile and take bold action. Someone who isn’t afraid to push for federal intervention and fair-trade negotiations. A leader who will fight to ensure affordable, reliable energy for our communities.

Reform with Respect: Why Leadership Matters
As I travel across Michigan’s 4th District, I hear from hardworking families who feel the weight of government decisions on their shoulders. While it’s true that government needs reform and downsizing, what we’ve witnessed recently has been beyond reckless—it’s been downright inhumane.
The federal workforce is made up of dedicated individuals—veterans, law enforcement officers, scientists, and many others—who give their time and energy to serving this country. They deserve empathy, respect, and fair treatment. Yet, in recent actions, we’ve seen a billionaire throw thousands of workers out on the street without a second thought, wielding a chainsaw with a smile, as if the livelihoods of American families were expendable.
I believe reform is needed, but not at the expense of the people who make this country run. We cannot sacrifice human dignity for the sake of political agendas. I will always fight for a government that values its citizens, not one that treats them as disposable.
As your representative, I will stand firm for those who serve our country in every corner of the workforce, ensuring they are treated with the respect they deserve. The road to reform must start with empathy, and it must never come at the cost of people’s livelihoods.
